Our first DBC Resource Reshare! This week we're talking about the article:

We believe that this article is a GREAT primer on the “Do’s and Don’ts” when it comes to data equity and how we may be unintentionally (or intentionally) creating harm or upholding barriers to equity.

Daniel's reaction: The article offers great reasons why some of the non-traditional statistical techniques (Bayesian Inference) help to incorporate community knowledge/experience (instead of stripping data of it in the name of “bias”) and produce more holistic pictures of the data, not just distilling it down to a single number (i.e. showing a map of potential averages based on a sample instead of just reporting the single calculation of the average from the data observed).
