DBC Work Spotlight!

DBC's contribution to the project was visualizing the Fairchild GBE data in two dashboards, highlighting data on Cultivar Variety and Light Conditions. These dashboards were part of the larger evaluation efforts coordinated by MN Associates, Inc.

When posting about this work, Kavita from MN Associates, INC shared her thoughts on why data visualizations, particularly dashboards, are useful and I wanted to highlight those sentiments here:

"Why do dashboards?

1. Visual Symphony: Data dashboards transform raw data into a visual symphony, offering a comprehensive and real-time overview of complex datasets. Unlike static tables or graphs, dashboards dynamically present information, creating an immersive experience. The amalgamation of colors, charts, and interactive elements transforms data into a story, making it easier to identify patterns, trends, and outliers.

2. Holistic Insight: Tables and graphs often require meticulous scrutiny to extract insights, and their static nature can limit the depth of analysis. Dashboards can provide a holistic view of the data, allowing users to observe correlations and interconnections effortlessly.

3. Customization and Interactivity: One of the standout features of data dashboards lies in their ability to be customizable and interactive. Users can tailor dashboards to their specific needs, arranging widgets, charts, and graphs in a way that resonates with their objectives. The interactive nature of dashboards facilitates drill-downs, filters, and real-time updates, empowering users to explore data at their own pace and delve into the details that matter most.

4. Real-time Decision Support: Dashboards excel in providing live updates, ensuring that decision-makers have access to the most current data. Whether monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) or tracking project milestones, dashboards keep stakeholders abreast of the latest developments, enhancing agility in decision-making processes.

5. Accessibility and User-Friendly Design: While tables and graphs may require a certain level of data literacy, dashboards often boast user-friendly interfaces that cater to a broader audience. The drag-and-drop functionalities and intuitive design make dashboards accessible to users with varying levels of technical expertise. This democratization of data empowers teams across different departments to harness the power of analytics."

We had a hand in creating the 2022 - 2023 visuals!”
